There will be a softball parent meeting on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 6:30 pm in the high school cafeteria.
Blinn College representatives will be on campus Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 6pm to discuss dual credit courses for the 2017-18 school year. All parents of current year sophomores and any juniors who have not enrolled in dual credit must attend.
For the first time in Giddings ISD history, GHS has finished as District Champions in every fall sport.
The Varsity Boys Football team finished the regular season 8-2 overall and 5-0 in district to earn their second consecutive District Championship. They advanced to the second round of the playoffs by beating Waco Connally on November 11th in Georgetown. They will play their second round opponent, Hardin-Jefferson, at 7:30 pm on November 18th at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.
The Varsity Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams finished as champions at the District Cross Country Meet on October 12th. Both teams advanced to the regional championship where Vivian Ratcliff, Hunter Pleasant, and Christian Montelongo earned the opportunity and competed at the UIL State Cross Country Meet on Saturday, November 12, 2016 in Round Rock. Vivian Ratcliff was selected to the CCCAT All Region Team.
The Lady Buffs Varsity Volleyball Team beat La Grange on October 25th to earn the first District Championship in volleyball since 1988. They were also Bi-District and Area Champions and advanced to the Regional Quarterfinal round of the playoffs.
In addition, the Giddings High School Mighty Buffalo Band competed in the UIL Marching Contest in Buffalo Stadium and advanced to the UIL Area B Marching Contest at UMHB on October 29, 2016.

The GHS Varsity Football Team will be playing Hardin-Jefferson in the second round of the playoffs in Huntsville on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 7:30 PM. The band, cheerleaders, and buffalo gals will also be traveling to the game. In order to provide enough buses and drivers to safely transport these students to Huntsville by game time, we will need to release school 2 hours early.
All campuses will dismiss their students 2 hours early on Friday, November 18, 2016. Buses will also run two hours early. As always, the safety of our students is our number one priority.
