Summer Workout Sessions

GHS Coaching Staff will hold Summer Workout Sessions for athletes entering grades 7-12. Cost is $25 for the summer. Checks may be made payable to "Giddings Athletics. Sessions will be held Monday-Thursday from 8-10 AM of the following weeks:

There will be a Volleyball Camp for all incoming 5th-9th graders beginning May 30th-June 1st from 4:00pm-6:00pm in the GHS Gym. Cost is $30. Forms are due by Monday, May 22nd to receive t-shirt. Click on link above to download and print form.

Historic Fall Semester at Giddings High School

For the first time in Giddings ISD history, GHS has finished as District Champions in every fall sport.

The Varsity Boys Football team finished the regular season 8-2 overall and 5-0 in district to earn their second consecutive District Championship. They advanced to the second round of the playoffs by beating Waco Connally on November 11th in Georgetown. They will play their second round opponent, Hardin-Jefferson, at 7:30 pm on November 18th at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

The Varsity Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams finished as champions at the District Cross Country Meet on October 12th. Both teams advanced to the regional championship where Vivian Ratcliff, Hunter Pleasant, and Christian Montelongo earned the opportunity and competed at the UIL State Cross Country Meet on Saturday, November 12, 2016 in Round Rock. Vivian Ratcliff was selected to the CCCAT All Region Team.

The Lady Buffs Varsity Volleyball Team beat La Grange on October 25th to earn the first District Championship in volleyball since 1988. They were also Bi-District and Area Champions and advanced to the Regional Quarterfinal round of the playoffs.

In addition, the Giddings High School Mighty Buffalo Band competed in the UIL Marching Contest in Buffalo Stadium and advanced to the UIL Area B Marching Contest at UMHB on October 29, 2016.

Congratulations to all of the students, their parents, coaches, and sponsors for great seasons. Please continue to cheer our teams on as they participate in the state playoffs.

The U.S. News & World Report ranked data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college. Summer Basketball Camp

A Basketball Camp will held June 12th -15th for students entering grades 4th-9th. The Buffs Basketball Camp will be conducted by the GISD Basketball Coaching Staff and will focus on developing fundamental basketball skills. Campers will receive instruction on the basic fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, screening, footwork, and team concepts. Highlights of the camp will include: Camp Ball, Individualized Instruction, Hot Shot Contests, Competitive Drills and Games, and Team Competitions.
Cost of camp will be $30.00, with checks made payable to Giddings ISD. Please return payment and registration by May 25th to Coach Majewski at the High School or Coach Brewerton at the Middle School. Walk-ups are still welcome!

2017 Baccalaureate and Graduation

Giddings High School will be holding the 2017 Baccalaureate on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 7:00pm in the GHS Gym. Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 8:00pm at Buffalo Stadium.

Social Media Day

The Giddings ISD is hosting Social Media Day on Thursday, February 23rd.

The purpose of the event is to educate students, staff, parents, and the community on internet safety and security. Our guest speaker, Mark Seguin, will present student assemblies on each campus throughout the day and will speak at a meeting for parents and community members at 6:30 PM at the Giddings High School Cafeteria. The community event is free and childcare will be provided for your school aged children. Door prizes will be provided at the community meeting and students will not be assigned homework for that night. Please RSVP to Giddings High School, at (979) 542-3351, if you will need childcare.

The student assemblies will focus on age appropriate information about cyberbullying, internet safety, and potential consequences for inappropriate use of the internet. The community meeting will focus on steps adults should take to remain safe on the internet as well as how they can help keep their children safe.

Blinn College Dual Credit Presentation

Blinn College representatives will be on campus Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 6pm to discuss dual credit courses for the 2017-18 school year. All parents of current year sophomores and any juniors who have not enrolled in dual credit must attend.
