The Giddings ISD is hosting Social Media Day on Thursday, February 23rd.
The purpose of the event is to educate students, staff, parents, and the community on internet safety and security. Our guest speaker, Mark Seguin, will present student assemblies on each campus throughout the day and will speak at a meeting for parents and community members at 6:30 PM at the Giddings High School Cafeteria. The community event is free and childcare will be provided for your school aged children. Door prizes will be provided at the community meeting and students will not be assigned homework for that night. Please RSVP to Giddings High School, at (979) 542-3351, if you will need childcare.
The student assemblies will focus on age appropriate information about cyberbullying, internet safety, and potential consequences for inappropriate use of the internet. The community meeting will focus on steps adults should take to remain safe on the internet as well as how they can help keep their children safe.
